OUR HISTORY

Hammond Co. has provided precision measuring instruments since 1942, when it was first founded by Larry Hammond. Optical Gaging Products was one of the first lines for which Hammond was a sales agent.

Larry retired in 1976; then Bill and Kathryn Wall took over. In 1977 Kathyrn brought aboard one of Hammond Co.'s key staff members, Sue Staley. Sue has earned the respect of many long-time customers through personalized, knowledgeable service and a genuine willingness to help. 

In 1980, Richard Warzyn succeeded the Walls, who retired. Richard was a salesman, while his wife, Pauline, was customer service. At that time Richard's brother, Ken, came aboard as a salesman. Then in 1984, Udo Hilbert brought his gage design expertise to Hammond Co.

Upon Dick and Pauline's retirement in 1988, Ken Warzyn took over. Ken, his wife, Betsy, and their son, Tom, became actively involved in operating the company. Ken and Tom were involved in sales, and Betsy helped run the office.

In 1999, Ken & Betsy Warzyn retired, and Tom now operates the business with the help of a growing, committed staff.

Hammond Co. is not a “reseller” or “supplier” of these products, but an authorized dealer. An authorized dealer has direct contact and close working relationships with the manufacturers. These relationships provide you with the most efficiency and expertise when expediting, warranty, and technical service issues arise.

Hammond Company's trained and experienced service department provides in-house contract inspection, on-site CMM programming and training, and ISO 17025 accredited CMM, optical comparator and OGP vision system (Smartscope) calibration and certification. We are proud that Hammond Co. is the ONLY factory-trained, authorized service provider (repair and calibration) for Optical Gaging Products (OGP) equipment in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.
